Panama City Beach – Circus by the Sea
2008
Note that even though I wrote this great article
Circus By the Sea packed their tent and went home the
second week in July. A classic case of poor
marketing.
Are you looking for a unique activity for your
children while you are relaxing in Panama City Beach this
summer? I do
not know about you but after a day or two on the beach my
kids were always looking for something new and exciting
to do.
Panama City Beach will offer an opportunity that I have
never seen before at any of the beaches that we have
visited over the years.
On June 13,
2008, Florida’s newest seasonal
attraction – Circus by the Sea– will spring to life at Frank
Brown Park in Panama City Beach, bringing a dazzling
three-ring aerial and stage production to vacationers and
residents alike. Circus by the Sea will
showcase junior and senior performers from the renowned
Florida State University Flying High Circus, celebrating 60
years of spellbinding entertainment. Yes Florida State
University does have a Circus. My son and I toured the
campus Big Top on a college visit in
October.
Circus by the Sea will provide a
wonderfully unique family entertainment option during one of
Panama City Beach’s busiest seasons. With seating for 2,000,
the colorful, air-conditioned beachside Big Top will start
to rise above the sandy shores at Frank Brown Park on May
12, 2008. Nightly performances will begin on June 13 and
will run six days a week (Monday thru Saturday) through
August 2. Audiences will enjoy a full evening of
jaw-dropping routines rivaling any professional troupe, with
occasional special guest intermission performances.
Admission is $24 for adults, $16 for children (ages 4-16)
and free for children under 4 years
old.
Parents, here is the best part of the deal
- Circus by the Sea will also debut the area’s first
children’s circus camp, which will include lessons in a wide
variety of thrilling circus performance skills, entertaining
games and fun activities. From June 23 through July
31 Circus by the Sea will hold week-long (Monday through
Thursday) Circus Camps
from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. for children ages 7 to
12. Working
one-on-one with FSU performers, circus campers will learn
to perform various basic circus performance skills, from
balancing acts to juggling, and even flying high on the
trapeze.
Circus Camp will improve self-confidence, coordination
and overall fitness. Children will also
participate in games and recreational activities; lunch
and snacks are included. Cost is
$285/child.
Discounts are available if you have multiple children
participating in the camp.
Grown ups do not be disappointed because groups of all ages can
sign up for circus training on Fridays, by reservation
only. Join the
circus for a day with the whole family; you’ll leave with some
noteworthy new skills and memories of a
lifetime.
How about a camp for corporate team building? The Circus is also an
opportunity for a spectacular special birthday
party!
